Grade 6:
Mrs. Harrington: Science Homework: Due: Wednesday- journal your thoughts (short paragraphs) on the three main labs that refer to the concepts and vocabulary terms on the Journal worksheet. For example, in the first box we did a lab called “Modeling Faults” where we used clay. Journal how you thought this lab helped (or didn’t help) in learning the concepts and vocabulary. In the second box, I showed you a model of a folded mountain. The next three boxes are about measuring earthquakes in which we did the lab, “Locating an Epicenter.” Again, write out your thoughts on how the lab helped (or didn’t help) you to better understand the concepts and vocabulary. Lastly, the bottom of the second page, through the third and fourth pages (beginning with Volcanoes and Plate Tectonics), is where we began our volcano/earthquake/tsunami project. Did the project help you to better understand the concepts and vocabulary related to those sections?
Do your best. The journaling is not a graded worksheet, but rather a way for me to get your feedback.
Due: Thursday—folder check pages 36-51
Due: Monday—take home quiz. Students may use their textbook and study guide/notes to help them answer the final quiz on the Inside Earth unit
