Mrs. Hickey- All classes: There is no homework over the weekend. Students started a lab (page 53) today. We are observing the activity level of fresh water snails in various water temperatures. Students will continue observing snails in class on Monday, and possibly Tuesday as well. Then we will discuss and compare our results. Students probably will have homework on Monday and/or Tuesday. Update from Mrs. Lyon:
Computer6 – It’s nice to see the students again after their Kieve experience. They are back to using MicroType and remember they can always go to http://www.gamequarium.com/ for keying practice at home.
Computer7 – Computer7 students are going to be presenting their Email etiquette presentations to the class and then we will begin to explore how email can help with their school work and they will be exploring using a Blog in conjunction with the reading they are doing in English class. They also continue to improve their keying skills.
Computer8 – Students have begun to explore using their class Wiki. They have responded to questions about their reading from My Brother Sam is Dead and next will be working on a combined project with the other Computer8 class. They also continue to brush up on their keying skills.

FRIDAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL YEARBOOK ORDERS. AFTER THIS YEARBOOKS WILL BE SOLD IN JUNE IF WE HAVE ANY LEFTOVERS. PLEASE REMEMBER WE CANNOT ACCEPT CASH ORDERS.

Today in class we reviewed the study sheets that were started last Wednesday. They will be collected and graded tomorrow. Students were given a list of items to study, including the diagram on page 51 and a list of 3 essay questions that will appear on the quiz. Students will have to choose 2 essay questions to answer. We have been discussing the importance of answering open-response questions, as they appear on the MCAS. Thank you.

Updates and Homework for 3/16:
All Students:
Boy’s lacrosse is going to have a team meeting (Friday, 3/13/09) @ 2:30pm in the health room.
Middle school and high school that strength and conditioning @ 6:00am will be cancelled on Monday, March 16th.
Boys in grades 7-9 that are trying out for the baseball team should meet Coach Daron in the locker room on Monday, March 16th, at 2:30. You should be prepared to go outside for practice.
Softball tryouts begin Monday, March 16. Weather permitting tryouts will be outside from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. If inside, tryouts will be in the gym from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Tryouts will be all week Monday through Friday. Please bring gloves and bat if you have one. Dress warmly!
