All Grades:

Boy’s lacrosse is going to have a team meeting (Friday, 3/13/09) @ 2:30pm in the health room.

Middle school and high school that strength and conditioning @ 6:00am will be cancelled on Monday, March 16th.

“Boys in grades 7-9 that are trying out for the baseball team should meet Coach Daron in the locker room on Monday, March 16th, at 2:30. You should be prepared to go outside for practice.”

Softball tryouts begin Monday, March 16. Weather permitting tryouts will be outside from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. If inside, tryouts will be in the gym from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Tryouts will be all week Monday through Friday. Please bring gloves and bat if you have one. Dress warmly!

Mark your calendar for the eighth grade graduation ceremony which will be held on Monday, June 22nd from 3:30 to 5:30. More details will be sent home with students soon.

Cedardale, Groveland Field Trip scheduled for Wednesday June 17th! The trip will take place during school hours. FUN!

Lyons:

Computer 7 students are working on a unit on Email safety and will then begin to participate in a classroom blog focusing on the reading from the English class. They will also learn how using their email can help them with their school work by emailing assignments back and forth.

All Grades:

****** Progress Reports will be going out with students tomorrow. 6th Graders will receive their reports on Monday. Please be sure to ask your child to share his/her 3rd quarter progress with you!******

The second phase of MCAS testing, which will occur later in the spring, will be administered from Monday, May 11th through Thursday, May 28th, for students in grades 6, 7, 8. Depending upon the grade level of each student, testing will be administered in:

  • Mathematics &
  • Science & Technology/Engineering
  • Both of the above subject areas above will consist of two 60 minute sessions.

6th Grade News From Kieve

Everything is going well! We had a snowy morning and wet afternoon but the fun and learning continues. Today students are setting goals and learning the importance of teamwork. Despite the power outage in Georgetown, we left on time Monday morning and were here by 11:00 am. It has an incredible experience to share with your children and we look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow for Parents' day. All grades: Mini Melts ( Dippin Dots) are coming to Georgetown High School on Wednesday, March 11th. Come enjoy a treat after school and during Dodgeball.

SADD ( Students Against Destructive Decisions) is sponsoring Mini Melts.

As a reminder, there will be an 8th grade student/parent breakfast on Monday, March 23rd, between 7:30 am and 9:10 am. Students and parents will be served breakfast from 7:30 to 8:00 am in the cafeteria. There will then be a Guidance presentation from 8:00 am to 8:30 am, in the auditorium which will focus on grade 9 curriculum and overall high school curriculum. Between 8:30 am and 9:00 am there will be tables set up in the cafeteria by the English, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign language departments, and guidance departments. Department heads and counselors will be available to answer questions from parents.
