There will be a multimedia presentation on the transitional process between middle school and high school, a student panel presentation composed of seniors, and a question and answer session with department heads in the cafeteria to conclude the evening.

Mrs. Hickey’s Classes: The students got back their photosynthesis quizzes today. ALL students should have the quiz signed. Having the quiz signed is an assignment. Also, some students need to redo 2 of the essay questions on the quiz. A sheet is attached to the top of the quiz that gives directions for this. Students will receive credit for the questions they redo, and the points will be added to the quiz grade. This assignment is due tomorrow. In class we tested various seeds for their ability to attach to animal fur and be dispersed by the wind. Tomorrow we will test whether or not these seeds can be dispersed by water.

Students will examine seed dispersal over the next few days and write their first formal “lab report”. Tomorrow students will observe the seeds and form hypotheses about how they think the seeds will be dispersed- by wind, water, or attaching to animal fur. The homework that is assigned tomorrow will be related to the lab. Thursday’s homework will also be related to the lab report.
