Updates and Homework for 4/16:

Attention parents: Term 3 grades are coming home with students today!!!
Attention parents: I am looking for a couple of parent volunteers (two to be exact) to contribute to a committee that will review/give feedback on the current Middle School Student/Parent Handbook. Our first meeting will be scheduled for 2:30 on Thursday, May 30th. Please email me if you are interested: brunog@georgetown.k12.ma.us.

Extra Credit: Students may receive up to 40 points extra credit. Andover library will be hosting many events related to the Dust Bowl of the 1930’s beginning on April 1st. You may attend any of the events seen on the library’s website www.mhl.org/andoverreads ,or you may like to read the poems about the times and challenges of the people in a novel
“Out of the Dustbowl” by Karen Hesse. You will receive 10 points for a page of poetry related to your own community, and what kinds of solutions you think could be of help, or you can write a one page summary of Hesses’ novel. You will receive 10 points for every event attended and/or viewing of the Dust Bowl photo exhibit.

Middle School Jazz Band is cancelled again this week. We will rehearse again on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the week after vacation (4/27,28,&29). The schedule for MS Jazz that week is Mon. @ 2:30, Tues. @ 3:00, and Wed. @ 2:30. Sorry for the inconvenience. Contact Mr. Kaminski with any questions: kaminski@georgetown.k12.ma.us

Mrs. Hickey- All Classes: Students in F and E blocks need to complete Questions 1,2,3,4 and 5 on the Analyze and Conclude for the Cricket Lab. We went over the questions in class, as well as what papers are needed to turn in a complete lab report. In A and B blocks, most students need to complete only questions 5 and 6. A and B blocks will have labs collected at the beginning of class. E and F blocks will have time to do question 6 before it is collected in class.
Mrs. Girard: Quiz tomorrow on classroom objects, so study! Also, Sing your alphabet song at least 5 times for practice.

Attention Parents:
Because the Georgetown SEPAC believes that every child deserves the right to shine, we are taking a step towards providing information and education to all parents, NOT just parents who have a child with a LD, about the vital importance of whole foods supplements, organics and alternative diet foods. Every day more is being discovered about the importance of nutrition and the link to learning. By making just a few small changes in your family’s eating habits you’ll be rewarded with a noticeable improvement in their ability to focus on school work, resist sickness and improve the over all mood for every member of your family.
