From the Middle High School Art Department:
Days getting shorter and colder weather – we find ourselves spending more time inside- The art department encourages all of our students to spend your indoor time CREATING! Creative arts have been linked to student achievement. A growing body of studies presents compelling evidence connecting student learning in the arts to a wide spectrum of academic and social benefits. Research has shown that what students learn in the arts may help them to master other subjects, such as reading, math, or social studies. Students who participate in arts learning experiences often improve their achievement in other realms of learning and life.
So here are several ideas for you and your family to create:
Nunans Pumpkin Carving Challenge: Entry forms in the Middle /High school offices. Visit their web-site for complete contest rules and information : www.nunans.com
