The Boys Basketball Banquet will be held on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

A new recycling program has started. Recycling now includes plastic bottles, aluminum cans and cardboard. Please place your recycling into the large bins in the halls. Please continue to use the classroom recycling bins for paper only. If you have any questions, see Nick Valentini or Jay Martel.

From Mr. Kaminsky: Band and Chorus students should all be completely paid for the Six Flags festival field trip on May 8. If you still owe money (all second payments are $37.50), please bring a check made out to Georgetown Music Parents to Mr. Kaminski or Mrs. Laflamme ASAP.

Grade 8:
Ms. Bailey: All students must finish reading chapter 11 in our “Sam” books for Monday.

Grade 7:
Mrs. Hickey- A and B Blocks: I collected the Snail Lab reports today. They will count 4 times toward the students’ lab average. A and B blocks need to complete the worksheet on arthropods if they did not do so in class today. F and E blocks were short today, so they have not started this assignment, but will work on it in class tomorrow.

Extra Credit: Students can receive up to 40 points extra credit. Andover library will be hosting many events related to the Dust Bowl of the 1930’s beginning on April 1st. You can attend any of the events seen on the library’s website www.mhl.org/andoverreads (for each event signed by the librarian you will receive 10 bonus points) or you may like to read the poems about the times and challenges of the people in a novel “Out of the Dustbowl” by Karen Hesse. You will receive 10 points for a page of poetry related to your own community, and the kinds of solutions you think could be of help, or you can write a one page summary of Hesses’ novel.

Mrs. Lamoly: Blog—ELA- Study for vocab 7 Test on Friday…also…Change brainstorm for G and E block…and Change paragraph for A and D block.

Congratulations to Jason Steele, Aidan Kelly, Melissa Ruh, Cole Martens, and Katherine Stolar who all participated in this past weekend's MMEA Northeastern Junior District Honors Music Festival. They were among several hundred area music students chosen by audition to participate in the the festival capped off by Saturday's concert. Georgetown is proud of you!
