Updates and Homework for 1/13:

All Grades:
Mr. Kaminsky: Middle School jazz band will rehearse tomorrow (Wed.) at 2:30 PM in the band room.
YEARBOOK MEETING: There will be a MS Yearbook Meeting on Wed after school in Ms. DiFruscio’s room from 2:20-3:15 this week.

Bye Bye Birdie rehearsals this week will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:30-4:30, for cast and crew. Please check your calendars to see if you have any additional rehearsals this week. Please See Mrs. Viera or Mrs. Laflamme with any questions about the schedule.

Important reminder on early dismissals: Any student who is going to be dismissed must turn in a note to the main office the morning of the dismissal. The note must be signed by a parent/guardian, and must state the time and specific reason for the dismissal. Dismissals via a phone call can only be accepted for emergency situations. All dismissals due to illness must go through the school nurse. Students must come down to the main office at the time of their dismissal and sign out.

Grade 8:
Mrs. Rydbeck: A Block- Practice 6-1: Do it all; E Block- Midterm next week. Study guide will be given tomorrow. Please organize your binder; F and G Blocks- review for midterm exam next week.

Mrs. Mongeau: Read pages 382 – 385/ Using puzzlemaker.com create a 10 question worksheet to give to another student in class. Be sure to also print out the answer key!! ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE THIS ASSIGNMENT TOMORROW!

Mrs. Bailey: Students have been given study guides for the vocabulary mid-term which will be on Tuesday, Jan 20th. The mid-term will also have a reading comprehension part to it. Students should be reviewing flash cards for this mid-term for a few minutes every night. Don’t wait until the last minute! Lesson 14 exercises are due to correct on Thursday this week. A test on Lessons 13 & 14 will be given on Friday this week. Book report books are going well….remember the book report is a long term assignment which is due on Wednesday, Jan. 28th.

Mrs. Girard: Packet 1 workbk page 5-4; Packet 2 Page 3; Practice vocab pages 200/201 quiz Friday.

Grade 7:
DiFruscio: FINISHING TOUCHES ON PROJECTS. These are due at the start of class tomorrow COMPLETED. Late projects will result in 1 letter grade reduction per day late ( the day starts once class ends). I have STRONGLY REMINDED students that I would hope nobody would be calling home for parent deliveries of forgotten work. Please help remind them of this…

Mrs. Hickey- ALL classes: he quiz on animal cells is tomorrow. Students should have the materials they need to study from. We have talked about the structure of the quiz and options students have for taking the quiz.

Mrs. Husak: A - page 209 # 26-38 evens – Quiz Friday on sections 5.5 and 5.6 –Multiplying and Dividing Fractions; B & E – page 760 # 21-28 all # 29, 31, 33 and Quiz tomorrow on sections 5.1-5.3; F – worksheet C -67 – Quiz Friday on sections 5.5, 5.6, 5.8 – Chapter 5 Test next Wednesday ; Term 2 ends next Friday – If any student is anticipating retaking any quizzes, you need to do it by Wednesday of next week.

Mrs. Schauerman: SCIENCE - Start memorizing the parts of the microscope on your microscope diagram; MATH - Quiz tomorrow on sections 5-5, 5-6 & 5-9, multiplying & dividing fractions & mixed numbers. B - block - Study for quiz & Practice 5-9 worksheet # 1-25 odd, 31 & 32; E- block - Study for quiz & Page 518, # 31-50 & 63 - 66.

Grade 6:
Mrs. Lamoly: Kieve paperwork! Be prepared for final copy of your science term info for the letter- final day to work on it is tomorrow.

Mrs. Carminito: A Block: none; D & E Block: quiz tomorrow on adding and subtracting mixed numbers; F & G Block: page 269 #1-25; quiz Thursday; Chapter test and binder check next Wednesday; Midterm January 27.

Mrs. Harrington: Science Homework - Due Wednesday: review the “Volcano” song in preparation for Friday’s Volcano/Earthquake showcase. Please remember to bring in some newspapers for next weeks eruptions.

Mrs. White: Read 20 minutes and complete log; C Block-log and Strategy worksheet due 1/14; D block Strategy 4 due 1/14.

Mrs. Lyon: Sixth grade students in computers will be taking a timed typing test during their last couple of days of class. Any practice at home will surely help.
