Homework for the eight grade students in Spanish I:
Write a self introduction using full sentences in Spanish. Information to include: Greeting; Name; Where you are from; 3 things you like to do; 2 things you do not like to do; Describe yourself using three adjectives (don’t forget the verb Ser); Closing
Seventh Grade: no homework

Mrs. Fulton’s 7th & 8th grade Foods Classes should be reviewing for a “Recipe Math” quiz during their next rotation.

Days getting shorter and colder weather – we find ourselves spending more time inside- The art department encourages all of our students to spend your indoor time CREATING! Creative arts have been linked to student achievement. A growing body of studies presents compelling evidence connecting student learning in the arts to a wide spectrum of academic and social benefits. Research has shown that what students learn in the arts may help them to master other subjects, such as reading, math, or social studies. Students who participate in arts learning experiences often improve their achievement in other realms of learning and life.
So here are several ideas for you and your family to create:

Grade 8:
Mrs. Mongeau: Newscast presentations are due Tuesday. Please note that video taping is not required but, many students have opted to do so.

Mrs. Bailey: No Homework for the weekend! There will be a Lesson 4 Spelling and Vocabulary test on Tuesday. Everyone enjoy the holiday weekend!!!!!!

Mrs Reed: Practice 3-3 all problems

Grade 7:
Mrs. Schauerman: MATH- No homework; SCIENCE - No homework. Today in class we started research for a 3-5 paragraph essay on organisms that display symbiosis or defense mechanisms. (Each student was assigned a topic.) Students will research again on Tuesday & will be given one day in class to work on their essays. Essays are due on Friday, October 17th; there will be no other written science homework assignments next week. Ask your child to see his assignment sheet with guidelines for this essay. Enjoy your long weekend!

Mrs. Hickey’s classes: There is no homework over the long weekend. On Tuesday, students will return to the library/computer lab to do research for their reports. If you have not seen the outline yet, the students receive 5 bonus points on the outline for having it signed by a parent/guardian by Tuesday. I reminded them today. The students are expected to work on their report over the course of the next two weeks, as there should not be any other written work assigned in Science until October 24th when the report is due. Reminder: There is a quiz on Chapter 1, section 3 on Wednesday, October 15th. Have a great long weekend.

Grade 6:
Mrs. Lamoly: NO HOMEWORK FOR ELA THE LONG WEEKEND!

Mrs. Harrington: Science Homework - Due: Tuesday: Part B (answer questions 5-8) of “Study Guide—What is Science?” Word bank for Study Guide is:

Due: Wednesday: science test on Unit One—What is Science?

Mrs. White: Read 20 minutes; Work on paragraphs; A & B Blocks due Tuesday, October 14; Book orders due 10/17.

Mrs. Reed: Picture Dictionaries due on Wednesday. Do it over the long weekend so you can get the extra credit points.
