Updates and Homework for 6/10:

All Students:
From Mr. Masys: If anyone is interested in running cross country next year, there is a meeting after school on Tuesday, June 16 in the health room.

A reminder to all 7th grade students: the peer mentor meeting will be held tomorrow in Ms. DiFruscio's room at 2:20!!! Ms. Francis and Mr. Bruno will be running the meeting.

PLEASE BE ADVISED – CHANGE OF VENUE FOR THE ROYAL RUMBLE!!!!
To those who have purchased tickets for this Saturday’s Football Game, because of the weather we anticipate that Georgetown football field will be unplayable this Saturday. Therefore, we have moved the game to Triton Regional High School, located off exit 55, Rt. 95 N in Newbury.
Tickets will be available at the gate on game day.
Kick off has been pushed to 1:30pm to allow the extra few minutes of travel time.
Thank you for supporting this event which we hope will have a tremendous impact on the athletic programs in the Georgetown Schools. The Boston Raven & Manchester Devils are looking forward to a great game.

MIDDLE SCHOOL YEARBOOKS ARE BACK ON SALE!
We have a limited number of extras for those students who did not pre order and will take orders on a first come first serve basis, giving grade 8 students priority! This week only we will take orders from grade 8 students. Beginning Monday we will take orders from all middle school students on a first come first serve basis. Yearbooks are distributed in the middle school on Monday June 22. Students need to bring in a check (in an envelope with the child’s name and homeroom teacher on it) for $24 to Georgetown Middle School. These should be brought their homeroom teachers.

Mrs. Reed: pg. 590 #1 – 3, 7 – 10, 15 – 22 all

Grade 7:
Mrs. Hickey- All classes:
We are studying mitosis. Students are to copy the green diagrams that appear on pages 64-65 of their textbook. They should label the diagrams (for example,
“prophase”) and what they can in the diagram (spindle fibers, chromosomes, etc) but they do NOT have to copy all of the captions next to the diagrams. I gave students a piece of unlined white paper to work on.
Also- in regards to the biome/animal project. I told the students who have not been passing the project homework ( 2 or 3 questions a night) in on time not to complete the project (model of a biome or animal). The project is open to those students who have done the homework completely and on time, for extra credit, as a quiz grade. Students have and will receive credit for all of the questions they turned in. If they did not do the homework it is a zero, as usual. The last of the 9 questions were due today. I do not think 2 questions a night, 9 total in a week, is too much for 7th grade. Unfortunately, some students have not followed through with their assignments.
Finally, the last quiz of the year in Science will be next Thursday, June 18th. It will cover the topics we are studying now.Students will have study sheets as well as their text. This is NOT a cumulative final exam, and will count as much as any other quiz they have taken.

Mrs. Husak:
A – finish # 3, 4, 5 on the worksheet on Surface Area of Cylinders
B – no homework
E – we will have part II of chapter 7 test tomorrow so keep on studying
F - page 394-395 # 1-16 all
All classes will not have a cumulative as previously planned. We would not have enough time to review as we are busy finishing up current topics.

Mrs. Morrison:
A – Study for voc. final. Ch. 7 reading questions #2 and 8
B – Weekly voc. assignments
E and F – Drama groups must have all costumes and props in by Thursday.
