Updates and Homework for 5/19:

All Students:
MCAS testing tomorrow: 6th grade will be finishing session 2 of math and grade 8 will begin session 1 of the Science and Engineering test.

Update from Mrs. Lyon:
Computer6 students are using their keying data they have collected in Excel to write a summary of their progress in Microsoft Word, although those students who have not learned all the keys yet are hand writing the report.
Computer7 students just completed PowerPoint’s and presentations on Internet Safety.
Computer8 students are in the process of learning to use Microsoft Word to type a properly formatted letter. They are responding to a letter I received from a student in Wisconsin.

Grade 8:
Important Dates for Grade 8
June 12th ~ All students will be going to New York/No classes
June 17th~ All students will be going to Cedardale/ No classes
June 22nd~ Award Ceremony B/C block
June 22nd Graduation at 3:30

Ms. Bailey: All classes are working on Lesson 26 in vocabulary…all exercises due Thursday with a test on Friday. We are still reading and discussing “The Pearl” by John Steinbeck each class is at a different spot in the reading.

Mrs. Girard: 8th grade-page 163 Act. 1-4

Mrs. Rydbeck: All classes: No homework. Science MCAS tomorrow morning.

Mongeau: Presentations are due tomorrow! Visual and oral

Grade 7:
DIFRUSCIO: ROMAN NUMERAL QUIZ THURSDAY: Be able to identify roman numerals for the following numbers (1,5,10,50,100,500,1000= I, V, X, L, C, D, M RESPECTIVELY) and to translate numbers in “English/Arabic” to roman numerals, correctly following the rules: ( NO MORE THAN 3 LETTERS OF THE SAME KIND IN A ROW EXCEPT M. NUMBERS SHOULD APPROPRIATELY FIT IN A PLACEMENT CHART.)

Mrs. Hickey- All classes:
The amphibian and reptile quiz originally scheduled for tomorrow has been put off until Wednesday. Students should study tonight and tomorrow. Some students have questions to finish from an article they read in class on Friday. Most students completed the work in class, but some students need additional time.

SCHAUERMAN: SCIENCE: A-block - Quiz on fish & amphibians tomorrow. Study for quiz. F-block - Complete the amphibians guided reading packet & Amphibians Review & Reinforce worksheet. Begin studying for Thursday's fish & amphibian quiz. MATH: B-block - Reteach 7-7 # 1- 8. E-block - Practice 7-7 worksheet

Grade 6:
Mrs. Lamoly: No homework…enjoy the glorious afternoon…have a great concert!

Mrs. Carminito: D Block: project due Tuesday. E Block: Reteaching 9-2 worksheet: perimeter only; project due Tuesday. G Block: circumference and area worksheet.

Mrs. White: Read 20 minutes and record in log. Book order due 5/22/09

Math Enrichment Gr. 6: last picture dictionary due tomorrow.

Mrs. Harrington: Science Homework:
Take a few minutes to look at the night sky and the many constellations! Thursday—folder check (1-17).
