Updates and Homework for 4/6:

All Students:
Congratulations to all 6th adn 7th graders for wrapping up the ELA MCAS! All students worked extremely hard on all test sessions. Grade 8 students will be taking three sessions of the ELA reading comprehension test this week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Pelase make sure you are on time and well fed!

Grade 8:
The eighth grade team is please to announce a trip to New York on Friday June 12th. Students have been given a permission slip to be signed and returned no later than April 14th. Please send a check made out the the Georgetown Middle High School. The total cost is $75.00

Mongeau: No homework this week/MCAS

Mrs. Rydbeck: All classes: No homework. Go to bed early and remember to have some breakfast. 8th grade MCAS starts tomorrow morning.

Mrs. Girard: use a minimum of 15 vocabulary words from pages 74 and 75 to write sentences. Underline the vocab words.

Grade 7:
Mrs. Morrison: A – Weekly voc. assignments due Thursday – p. 278 and p. 279 – End Marks and Abbreviations; E and F – Work for 30 minutes on Ch. 8 vocabulary in Section 1 p.262 and Section 2 p.268.

DiFruscio: A&B BLOCKS: Students should finish their worksheets on The Wave and hand in tomorrow. E&F BLOCKS: Chapter 8 Vocabulary for Sections 1 & 2- list is on page 295 (8 words total). Definitions from glossary and at least 1 important fact/connection to the material we are studying about Ancient Rome.

SCHAUERMAN: MATH - Page 21 # 23 & Checkpoint problems #1 - 4; SCIENCE - Complete the Pill Bug Lab.

Mrs. Weldon - All Classes: Vocabulary Lesson 23: all exercises and note cards due on Thursday, Test will be on Thursday. Grammar Packet: pp. 278 and 279.

Mrs. Girard: No Homework.

Grade 6:
Due: Wednesday—Lab--“How do Glaciers Change the Land? Students will be making their own glacier and observing how their miniature glacier changes a piece of soap or wax.
Due: Thursday—Test on Unit 5--Weathering, Erosion and Deposition. Students will be using study guides 15, 19(2), 24 and one other (handed out on Wednesday).
*Extra Credit: Students may receive up to 40 points extra credit. Andover library will be hosting many events related to the Dust Bowl of the 1930’s beginning on April 1st. You may attend any of the events seen on the library’s website www.mhl.org/andoverreads ,or you may like to read the poems about the times and challenges of the people in a novel
“Out of the Dustbowl” by Karen Hesse. You will receive 10 points for a page of poetry related to your own community, and what kinds of solutions you think could be of help, or you can write a one page summary of Hesses’ novel. You will receive 10 points for every event attended and/or viewing of the Dust Bowl photo exhibit.

Mrs. Carminito: A Block: page 500-501 #1, 3, 9; Quiz Wednesday; Chapter test and binder check next Tuesday; D block: project due tomorrow; page 58-60 #1-38; E Block: project due Wednesday; page 58-60 #1-38; F & G Block: Chapter test and binder check tomorrow.

Mrs. Lamoly: 1.) Vocab Lesson 8—Anger and Forgiveness words—p. 49 Write the Correct Word and Complete the Sentence. 2.) 3 rough copy detail paragraphs for “Change” essay.

Mrs. White: Read 20 minutes and record in log; G Block signed log and examples of figurative language.
