Updates and Homework for 2/26:

All Grades:
There is a middle school dance this Friday night, sponsored by the sixth grade from 6:30-9pm - $5 at the door. Note to parents: please, if you are willing to donate and/or purchase snacks and juice/water/soda to be sold at the dance, we would welcome any assistance you could provide! Please drop off any refreshments or snacks at the main office by Friday afternoon. Thank you for your help!

Playoff Game: Boys Basketball Georgetown vs. New Mission Home game on Saturday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults. THERE ARE NO DISCOUNTS FOR BASKETBALL PARENTS/SIBLINGS! Come early, as the game will probably sell out.

GET YOUR REGISTRATION FORMS IN FOR THE SPELLING BEE! Forms are due no later than this Friday, February 27th! Mr. Bruno will be the moderator, Superintendent Jacobs will be the master of ceremonies, and Officer Jones will be a judge! Come test your skills and win up to $100 in savings bonds!!!

DANCE CLUB TRYOUTS will be held next Monday and Tuesday, March 2 and 3, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Be ready to perform a 30 second choreographed routine. All candidates must attend both practices.

SPRING SPORTS SIGN-UPS are scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Coaches meetings from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., sign-ups in the café from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Forms are available on the table in front of the Main Office. If you are interested in playing a spring sport, please come to the coaches meeting and sign up on Wednesday, March 4.

Grade 8:
Mrs. Sheridan: 1. Cover your new textbook. 2. Answer questions 1-4 on page 37. 3. Due Monday, March 2nd: bring 6 – 8 colored pencils. (Do NOT run out and buy a new pack of 99 colors! If you have some at home bring them in; otherwise, a small pack of 8 is fine.)

Mrs. Rydbeck: A Block- Worksheet: Lesson6 proportions: do it all-both sides! E Block- Worksheet: Factory tour: do it all. F and G Blocks- Finished the cumulative review questions.

Ms. Bailey: 10 sentences from lesson 17 words due tomorrow. Read Ch. 2 in “Sam” and write out 5 important facts from the chapter to share in class.

Mrs. Mongeau: Read pages 91-94 create a chart listing the influences of American government. Test on Chapter 4 sections 1 & 2 Tuesday of next week.

Mrs. Reed: Reteach & Practice 7-3 evens.

Grade 7:
Mrs. Weldon: All Classes: Study for Vocabulary Test; Rough Draft for Writing Prompt. *Registration forms for the Spelling Bee are due tomorrow!

Mrs. Schauerman: MATH - Complete the 3 Worksheets on Proportions that we began in class. Please show all work!! SCIENCE - Read pages 73 - 77 & complete the guided reading worksheet for Echinoderms.

Mrs. Hickey- E and F block Classes Only:
Students started a worksheet about echinoderms- starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers and sand dollars. Their homework is to finish it if needed, and proofread their work. A and B block students are likely to have the same homework tomorrow.

Ms. DiFruscio: Using notes from class today, write 1 well written paragraph ( best spelling, grammar, capitalization etc..) to answer the following: EXPLAIN the impact that Pericles has had on our lives today. (How can you relate him to your life?)

Mrs. Morrison: A – Study for Voc. test – Lessons 17 and 18. Finish web for the writing prompt and write the introductory paragraph; B – Work for 20 minutes on your Hero Essay; E and F – P. 149 – Primary Source – Analyze – Read and answer questions #26 and 27.

Grade 6:
