Updates and Homework for 10/15:

All Students:
Mrs. Fulton’s 7th and 8th grade classes should be reviewing for their “Recipe Math” tests.
6th graders are beginning their study of the Food Pyramid and how it relates to them personally. In the near future, they will be keeping a 3 day food journal.

Students interested in joining the Builder's Club, a middle school community service/leadership group: you are encouraged to attend a meeting to be held tomorrow morning at 7am in Mrs. Bailey's room. Come and get involved!

Do you want to be a star of the stage? Do you want to work behind the scenes? If you are interested in acting in or working backstage for this year’s musical, please attend the informational meeting after school on Thursday, October 23, in the auditorium. See Mrs. Viera, Mrs. Laflamme, or Mrs. Grieb if you can’t make it—important dates will be discussed. This is your time to shine—don’t miss out!

Important Announcement: The friends and family of Mike Donohoe will hold a dedication of a bench and garden this Saturday, Oct. 18, at 12:00 noon in his memory. The ceremony will take place prior to the football game adjacent to the field at Georgetown Middle/High School, 11 Winter Street, Georgetown, MA. Mr. Donohoe was the facilities manager of the Georgetown public schools, coach, community servant, father and friend to many for many years. He passed away in June, 2006 after a courageous battle with melanoma. The public is invited to attend.

Grade 8:
Mrs. Mongeau: Study Guide should be completed for test on Byzantine Empire /Friday

Mrs. Bailey: A and C blocks have to complete only the compound Noun side of the grammar worksheet; E, F. and G blocks have to complete both the Compound Noun and Common/Proper Noun sides of the grammar worksheet.

Mrs. Sheridan: A,C,E,F - Study for Density Quiz; G - Complete "Conclusion" questions. The final TYPED lab report is due Friday. Mrs. Reed: MCAS Practice P.3 and P.7

Mrs. Girard: 8th Grade Blocks E, F - Cover text book; P. 35 do numbers 1-7. Do NOT make a real poster, you can doodle a poster on your regular paper. Split sheet for vocabulary from pages 38 and 39. Grade 7:
Ms. DiFruscio: part 2 of SS test tomorrow.

Mrs. Weldon: Vocabulary due tomorrow: Note Cards, Sentences, and Exercises; Test on Lesson 5 and 6 –October 24; Plural Nouns C (packet)—due on Friday (A and B block will receive packet tomorrow!); Coming of Age Book: Bring book to class on Friday.

Mrs. Morrison: A – All voc.assignments are due tomorrow; B – Work on Book Report; E and F – Study for key concepts test tomorrow.

Mrs. Hickey: Students received a study guide for the quiz on Chapter 1, section 3 to be given on Friday. Originally scheduled for today, I changed the date due to the Social Studies quiz given today. In class, some students worked on an assignment that required corrections before doing work on their report. Reminder: There is no written homework in Science until October 24th, so that students have ample time to work on the report, which is worth a quiz grade.

Mr. Pitella: Study for tomorrow's test on Africa.

Mrs. Reed: Finish Picture Dictionary that was due today if you haven’t already
