The Middle School Jazz Band rehearsal schedule for next week is as follows: Tues. Dec. 2: 2:30-3:30; Wed. Dec. 3: 3:00-4:00.

Next MS Yearbook Mtg. will be next week on Wednesday, December 3 until 3:30.

The next middle school dance has been scheduled! Friday, December 5th from 6:30-9pm.

Please look for you child to bring home Pointsettia order forms. Proceeds from the sales will go into each child's individual trip account with the Music Parents. Orders must be brought in to Mr. Kaminski and Mrs. Laflamme by Dec. 3.

As a reminder to the earlier letter you received, there will be a Parent Information Night for parents of eighth grade students on Monday, December 1st, between 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm, in the GMHS Auditorium. There will be a multimedia presentation on the transitional process between middle school and high school, a student panel presentation composed of seniors, and a question and answer session with department heads in the cafeteria to conclude the evening.

Grade 8:
Mrs. Rydbeck: All classes: No homework. Happy Thanksgiving!

Grade 7:
Mrs. Hickey: All classes: No homework over Thanksgiving vacation. Just a reminder to students- Don’t lose the Seed Dispersal lab report. We will be completing it Monday/Monday night. It will be collected on Tuesday.


Ms. DiFruscio: Happy Thanksgiving!

Grade 6:
Mrs. Lamoly: We had a wonderful 6th grade fundraiser, making about $2000...The Richards family won the raffle and donated their winnings to the White Church of Georgetown for families in need this holiday season. We were also able to donate your numerous food contributions to the Eumaeus House and also to families in need in Georgetown. Thanks to all for your fantastic support for our community! Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving to all.

Get ready for SPIRIT WEEK AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL! Monday, November 24th will be "Pajama Day," Tuesday, November 25th will be "Dress like your favorite celebrity or movie star day," and Wednesday, November 26th will be "Royal Spirit Day." Wear your blue and white and show your Georgetown Spirit!!!

Mrs. Bailey: Persuasive Essays were due today. Congratulations to those who completed this long term assignment on time!!!!! Unless special circumstances have already been agreed upon, missing assignments will loose 10 points a day until they are turned in. No homework is assigned for tonight….Science Fiction book reports are still due on Monday, 12-01-08. Have a Great Holiday!!!!!!!

Mrs. Girard: 7th & 8th Grade—No written homework! Have a healthy and happy Thanksgiving (No 8th grade classes tomorrow for Spanish)! I recommend that you review vocabulary and grammar from chapter 3 over the break as we will be having a chapter test the Tuesday (12/2) we return from break. Some websites you could use to practice vocab are http://www.quizlet.com/ or http://www.quia.com/ We all used these websites during class time and students should be familiar with how to find useful activities to help them study.

Mrs. Weldon: A-Block: Literature-p. 861: Check Your Comprehension #1 and 4; E and F Blocks: Literature-p. 863-Reader Response, Journal Writing, Check Your Comprehension #1 and #4, Critical Thinking, #1-4 and Apply; B-Block: Literature-p. 861-#’s 2, 4, and 5, p. 863- Check Your Comprehension, Critical Thinking #’1 and #2.
All Classes: Book Report due on December 16

Mrs. Hickey: ALL CLASSES: The only homework over Thanksgiving break is for the students to hold onto and NOT LOSE their seed dispersal lab report. We worked on the Analyze and Conclude section today in all of the classes. I stressed the need for students to put their lab reports in a SAFE place. On Monday, we will complete the lab report in class and put all of the pieces together. As we have spent 5 days on the lab experiment and lab report, the lab will count 5 times!!!!!

Mrs. Husak: A – finish classwork worksheet 4-1 practice side, and page 150 # 34-50 evens; B- finish classwork worksheet ray floob and the empire state building and page 182-183 # 2-58 even; E - finish classwork worksheet ray floob and the empire state building; F- page 157-158 # 2-50 evens quiz next Wednesday on sections 4.1-4.4.

DiFruscio: Students received a guided reading handout packet for all of Chapter 3 yesterday. They were given 2 in-class work days to work on these and should also have wokre don them last night for homework. Anyone not done today should finish tonight so they don’t have homework over the holiday weekend. (Please note that this time allotment provided ample opportunity for completion of this assignment. Students who failed to focus in class and/or do homework last night this week will end up with homework over the holiday weekend.) Completed packets are due NEXT Monday December 1.

Mrs. Girard: Worksheet of translations. The worksheet has two sides-do the side that begins with the Translation “I go to the amusement park on Tuesdays with my friends.”

Grade 7:
Ms. DiFruscio: Students received a guided reading handout packet for all of Chapter 3 today. Students are being given 2 in-class work days to work on these and should also work on these packets tonight and tomorrow night (Mon & Tues) for homework. This time allotment provides ample opportunity for completion of this assignment. Students who fail to focus in class and/or do homework this week will end up with homework over the holiday weekend. Completed packets are due NEXT Monday December 1.

Grade 6:
