Updates and Homework for 9/15:

All Students:
Thank you for your attention and excellent behavior during this morning's assembly regarding melanoma and skin cancer. The director of the foundation as well as Mrs. Pedroia commented on your interest, respectful attentiveness, and excellent questions!

Also, the Book rental program is up and running. If you are interested in renting a 2nd textbook to leave at home, the cost is $15/year for each book. Email or see Mr. Bruno for the forms if you are interested.

Grade 8:
Mrs. Mongeau: Read pages 160-165 and complete the guided reading worksheet/due tomorrow

Mrs. Reed: Reteach 2-5 all and Practice 2-5 #7 – 22

Mrs. Rydbeck: A Block- Worksheet 2.1: Do it all; D Block- Please continue to practice the sentences we have learned in Chinese. The more you use/speak it the easier it gets; E Block- Worksheet 2.1: # 1-12 and 29-40; F Block- Worksheet 5.1 # 34-47; G Block- Worksheet 5.1 # 19-27.

Grade 7:
Mrs. Weldon: All ELA Classes - Due Tuesday: Compare and Contrast essay (movie vs. book The Outsiders) please include your rough draft with the final draft; Due Thursday: Vocabulary Lesson 1—all exercises and sentences; Bring Literature book to class all week! Book order due on Friday.

Mrs. Husak: A – worksheet Practice (2.5) # 1-14 and 25, 26 show your multiplication work on the graph paper given in class; B – page 33 # 52-74 e, page 34 # 82-93 all; E – see B; F – complete classwork worksheet practice 2.5 # 1-26 all – make sure all work is neat and on separate piece of paper

Mrs. Schauerman: Science, A & F - Quiz tomorrow on section 1-1. Review vocabulary, questions at the end of the section, (pg. 21) & the worksheets completed in class today; Math - B & E -Please ask your child to see my math quiz and test correction policy, it should be in their math notebooks. Quiz corrections are due by Wednesday; E Block - Practice 2 - 5 Worksheet, # 1 - 8, 15 - 18, 19 -23 odd, 25 & 26

Ms. DiFruscio: Quest (short test) on chapter 1 section 1 Friday. Study guide to go home tomorrow.
Tonight’s prep for quest: Study vocabulary from chapter 1 section 1 tonight 20-30 mins (as if you were having a quiz tomorrow….); 11 words from vocab list + 4 more: circa (and know c. for abbreviation), Paleolithic Age( Stone Age) , Neolithic Age (New Stone Age), Agriculture (Domestication)

Mrs. Hickey/Grade 7 Science: A, E and B blocks: Finish worksheet if not done; F block: Finish pictures for 9 Chapter 1, section 1 vocabulary words; All classes: Quiz on Chapter 1, section 1 on Friday, September 19th.

Mrs. Morrison: A block –Do first draft for The Outsiders compare and contrast - 2 or more paragraphs. Make sure you use transitional words. Lesson 1 voc. due Thursday; B block – Do final draft for the compare and contrast – The Outsiders. Use the rubric that was handed out in class. Lesson 1 voc. is due on Thursday; E and F blocks –Study notes and voc. Quest coming up this week.

Grade 6:
Mrs. Lamoly: Vocabulary Lesson 1- students were asked to complete the two activities on page 3 and also try to recognize these words as they're used in everyday life.

Mrs. Harrington: Science Homework—Monday: complete the “Branches of Science” worksheet.

Mr. Pitella: Study definitions - quiz Wednesday (9/17); Complete latitude/longitude handout.

Mrs. Carminito: A Block: Expanded form worksheet; quiz on notes #1-2 tomorrow; D, E, F, G Blocks: quiz tomorrow on notes #1-3.
