Updates and Homework for 3/6

All Grades:
The Girl’s Basketball team plays tomorrow at Emmanuel College in Boston at 4:00 pm. Please show your school spirit and attend the game. Parking is very limited so try and carpool or take the T in! Travel safe and we will see you all there! GO ROYALS!

6th grade parents,

All of this information has already been sent and posted on the middle school blog, however, I thought I would send all attachments this one last time in preparation for our departure Monday morning from Penn Brook (students should be dropped off by 7am!) We are getting excited for the trip!

The time has finally arrived! Students and staff are very excited for the “school away from school” experience. These are the last items of interest, we promise!

1. Students need to report to the Penn Brook Cafeteria at 7 am Monday morning and check in with their homeroom teachers so we can depart at 7:30 am sharp.

2. All medications need to be given to the students’ homeroom teacher (original packaging mandatory), preferably in a Ziploc bag with child’s name on it.

3. Access to phones on site is available, therefore, no cell phones or electronics (ipods!) are needed at Kieve.
4. Buses will be arriving at GMHS Friday, March 13 about 2:45.

Equipment list:
sleeping bag or 3 blankets and 2 sheets hats/gloves
a heavy outerwear jacket flashlight (optional)
2 towels snow pants
camera (optional) socks (many!)
pillow toiletries
boots or hiking shoes warm clothing(layers)

Mini Melts ( Dippin Dots) are coming to Georgetown High School on Wednesday, March 11th. Come enjoy a treat after school and during Dodgeball. SADD ( Students Against Destructive Decisions) is sponsoring Mini Melts.

Attention Parents off 8th graders: On Monday, March 23rd, there will be a breakfast for eighth grade students and their parents in the high school cafeteria between 7:30 am and 8:00 am. The breakfast will be followed by a Guidance Department presentation focusing on high school and, especially, ninth grade curriculum, from 8:00 am to 8:30 am, in the auditorium. We will then return to the cafeteria in which tables will be set up for each of the academic departments (English, math, science, social studies, and world languages). Department heads, administrators, and guidance counselors will be available to answer questions that parents may have.

A letter regarding an upcoming teacher retirement:
Dear Mr. Lucia,
My name is Cheryl Lachnendro, and I teach 4th grade at Penn Brook. One of our long time teachers is retiring in June, Casmera Tagliamonte. She taught first grade for 20 years at Perley, and after coming to Penn Brook has taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I was wondering if you could include this in your system of communication to parents and students that asks students/parents who know or have had her for a teacher to share a special memory with Mrs. Tagliamonte, give her a best wishes message, or a note of thanks to her. People who are interested, could drop it in an e-mail to me either at chewalsh@aol.com, or lachendroc@georgetown.k12.ma.us. I will compile these for Casmera in a memory book. I greatly appreciate your help.
Sincerely,Cheryl Lachendro(Grade 4 Penn Brook)
