There are 27 sirens located in Massachusetts, within the communities of Amesbury, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Salisbury and West Newbury, with 94 in New Hampshire.
This demonstration is a public information endeavor designed to increase public awareness of what the sirens sound like and what to do if they are ever sounded due to a declared emergency.

Mrs. Hickey’s classes: Many students did not have the quiz taken last Friday signed by a parent. Having the quiz signed is an assignment for which students get credit. It is also a way of communicating with parents in a timely manner so that there are no “surprise” grades at the end of the marking period. Students who have the quiz signed are eligible for extra credit to improve their quiz grade. The only other homework is the research report due this Friday. A number of students handed it in early so that I could check the report for mistakes and give them the opportunity to fix those mistakes prior to handing in the final report. I am planning a quiz next Tuesday, October 28th on Chapter 2, Section 1.
