Updates and Homework for 3/20:

All Students:
CHESS CLUB: There will be a meeting on Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Any questions, please see Ms. Weldon.

ACADEMIC DECATHLON: The Academic Decathlon Team will meet Wednesday morning at 7:00 a.m. Any questions, please see Ms. Weldon.

The Wrestling Banquet will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria and auditorium.

The Cheering Banquet will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

The Girls Basketball Banquet will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 starting at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. All levels and their families are invited.

The Boys Basketball Banquet will be held on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Strength and Conditioning will be held on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 a.m., Wednesdays from 3:00 -4:00 p.m and 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 noon in the weight room for anyone who would like to participate.

The next PTA General Membership Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 30th at 7:00 pm at the Penn Brook Library. Please try to attend as we will be voting on our revised bylaws.

Grade 8:
Reminder to all parents that the 8th grade parent/student breakfast will be held Monday in the cafeteria and auditorium from 7:30-9am.

Mongeau: No homework!

Poder (page 4 of packet); Weather expressions (page 5 of packet). Students had some time at the ed of class to begin activities.

Mrs. Reed: Reteach & Practice 8-7 all, quiz on Tuesday

Grade 7:
Ms. DiFruscio: B block: finish Greek Scavenger Hunt assignment if not completed in class (Q 1-40); A, E & F: none; Have a nice weekend! Happy Spring!

Mrs. Husak: A-page 6 # 2, 4, 6, 7; B-none; E-none; F- page 11 # 1, 11 or gather your own information by developing your own 2 questions and ask 12 people both questions and then create a bar graph and a line graph (Remember, a line graph shows a change or a trend over time so your question should involve a measurement of time, days, minutes, seconds etc).

Mrs. Weldon: Complete the writing prompt in the packet, “Why I Never Shoot Bears”

Mrs. Hickey- All classes: There is no homework over the weekend. Students started a lab (page 53) today. We are observing the activity level of fresh water snails in various water temperatures. Students will continue observing snails in class on Monday, and possibly Tuesday as well. Then we will discuss and compare our results. Students probably will have homework on Monday and/or Tuesday. I hope to have the quiz on mollusks corrected and returned by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Have a good weekend. Mrs. Hickey

Grade 6:
Mrs. Lamoly: No Homework- Enjoy the weekend!

Mrs. White: Read 20 minutes and record in log; E Block, signed log, similes, metaphors and paragraph due.

Mrs. Fulton’s 6th grade classes have been keeping a 3 day Food/ Activity/TV Screen Time Journal. Class B456 received their journals on Wed. Please remind them to complete their journals daily. C 456 and C123 Journals should now be complete and ready to be turned in.
