Updates and Homework for 4/27:

All Students:
Attention parents: please access the district's website: www.georgetown.k12.ma.us for detailed information regarding the swine flu - the attached documents were published for immediate release to the public from the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.

From Mr. Kaminsky: Support Georgetown HS Music at Barnes & Noble Sunday 5/3. The Georgetown HS Music Department is having fundraiser at the Barnes & Noble behind the North Shore Mall this Sunday, May 3. Simply mention the Georgetown Music Bookfair at the register (cafe included) and a portion of your bill will be automatically donated to the Georgetown HS Music department. Bookfair credit will be given from store opening to close. The Georgetown HS Jazz Band and the Georgetown HS A Cappella Club will be performing from 1 PM to 4 PM. Come get a great gift for Mother's Day and help out our active music program. Questions to David Kaminski, kaminski@georgetown.k12.ma.us.

Grade 8:
Mrs. Reed: Reteach & Practice 1-4 all, turn in projects if you have not done so.

Mrs. Rydbeck: All classes: No Homework. F and G Blocks-Chapter 8 test this Thursday and Friday.

Mrs. Girard: study for vocabulary quiz for section 9.1 (quiz will be Thursday!). Activities 1, 2,3 pages 110-111 write the question and the answer so that you practice both vocab and grammar.

Mongeau: Read Pages 163-167 and begin to create a study chart on the Bill of Rights. You should include all rights that are protected under the amendment as well as a picture that can be downloaded. (Amendments 1-4 are due tomorrow)

Grade 7:
Mrs. Hickey: A block: Do Part 2 for problems 1,2,3,4, and 5 on the Insect sheet. B block: Do Part 2 for problem 1 on the Insect sheet. E block: Color/put a design on each part of the circle graph completed in class. Make sure it is labeled with the name of the group, the degrees, and the percent. F block: No homework, but don’t forget to bring the insect sheet we started today in class.

Mrs. Weldon: All Classes: Vocabulary exercises Lesson 25 and Writing Extended Responses (p. 165 ) due on Thursday; A, E, and F Blocks: “Pop-Up “ Book due on Friday; B–Block: “Pop-Up “ Book due on Monday. Grade 6:
Mrs. Harrington: Due Tuesday-- As part of our “Earth Day” celebration, students will be completing The Great Green Web Game at: www.ucsusa.org. Also, students need to return their Earth’s Changing Surface textbook.
**Extra Credit (3 more days): Students may receive up to 40 points extra credit. Andover library will be hosting many events related to the Dust Bowl of the 1930’s beginning on April 1st. You may attend any of the events seen on the library’s website www.mhl.org/andoverreads, or you may like to read the poems about the times and challenges of the people in a novel “Out of the Dustbowl” by Karen Hesse. You will receive 10 points for a page of poetry related to your own community, and what kinds of solutions you think could be of help, or you can write a one page summary of Hesses’ novel. You will receive 10 points for every event attended and/or viewing of the Dust Bowl photo exhibit.

Mrs. Carminito: A Block: page 58-59 #1-29; project due Wednesday; D & E Block: page 328-330 #1-36; quiz Friday; F & G Block: page 346-347 #1-20; quiz Friday.

Mrs. Lamoly: ELA- 1. Vocab 11 p. 69 Write the Correct Word and Complete the Sentence. 2. Make a web for your short story.

Mrs. White: Read 20 minutes and record in log; C Block-List 5 items about your family’s culture
G Block-Signed log, worksheet and paragraph due; Book orders due 5/1.
