Updates and Homework for 1/15:

All Students:
Attention all Middle School Students: Sign up NOW for the National Free Throw Championship contest hosted by teh Knights of Columbus! It is open to all students ages 10-14 and will be hosted at the Perley School gymnasium on January 24th at 4:15pm. Contestants compete through a local, district, and possibly national competition! A pizza party will follow the event. Forms are here and available outside the middle school office. Contact Reg Tardif or Jim Connolly with any questions: 978.352.6473 or 978.352.8836.

Fire Prevention Poster Contest: Pick up a flyer outside the MS office to compete in a artistic poster contest with the theme of fire safety. The deadline for submitted artwork is January 30th! See Mr. Bruno, Mrs. Cannon, Ms. Murphy, or Mrs. Weldon for more information. This is a state-wide competition with cash prizes for the top three winners of $1,000, $500, adn $250. Additional grant money is also provided to the local fire department for winners!

From Mr. Kaminsky: If anyone is interested in taking guitar lessons after school at GMHS, please contact Mr. Kaminski (kaminski@georgetown.k12.ma.us).

Grade 8:
Mrs. Mongeau: Cause and Effect graphic organizer and essay on the Crusades/due Tuesday. Rubric given. Also, study guide has been given for the midterm.

Mrs. Bailey: Study for lesson 13-14 spelling/vocabulary test

Mrs. Reed: Study for you midterm tomorrow. Review your old quiz and tests by redoing problems you got wrong. Look over the outline I gave your, look over the Wrapup questions which have summaries of what is covered.

Mrs. Girard: Packet 2 writing activities C, D (bottom of the page says page 31); Text book pages 204-205 # 1-4; Quiz tomorrow on vocabulary 200-201.

Mrs. Sheridan: IMPORTANT: Due to mid-terms, the “Bridges” SPOW is optional this week. Any SPOWs received by Tuesday will be extra credit. Mid-term Part II (short answer)is tomorrow. Grade 7:
Mrs. Husak: A-worksheet Ms. Snerd side only # 1-17– show all work on a separate piece of paper; B – page 265-266 # 2-26 even; E – page 259 # 2-30 even; F – page 220 # 2-24 even.

Mrs. Morrison: A-Study for Vocabulary Test, main idea worksheet; B-Study for Vocabulary Test; E-None; F-None.

Schauerman: MATH - Page 208 & 209 # 8 - 12, 25 - 29, 40 - 42; Page 212 # 12 - 16, 24 - 28. Quiz corrections due tomorrow. If you failed the quiz, there is an opportunity to retake the quiz tomorrow at lunch, if you do the quiz corrections tonight. SCIENCE - There will be quiz tomorrow on the microscope. Study the microscope diagram & your study guide. A- Block, you also need to complete the "What is an Animal" guided reading packet.

Mrs. Girard: quiz tomorrow on school supplies/classroom objects and the alfabeto.

Grade 6:
Mrs. Carminito: A Block: none; D & E Block: page 256 #12-20 even; page 260 #12-28 even; redo quiz; F & G Block: study for test.

Mrs. Reed: If you took home your stock portfolio worksheet, finish and BRING IT BACK for Tuesday. If you are doing a cover sheet over the weekend, BRING IT BACK for Tuesday.

Mrs. Fulton: Mrs. Fulton’s 6th grade classes should have turned in their portfolio’s “My Nutritional Guide to Good Health” by the end of this week. This will be a significant part of their grade for this quarter.

Mrs. White: Read 20 minutes and record in log.
